La Jolla Homes With Guest Casita

La Jolla is arguably one of the best beach towns in San Diego to live with a wide variety of ocean view and oceanfront homes. The density of these homes tends to be pretty tight with homes typically not located on large parcels on land. One of the latest buyer trends are those looking for a detached living space for extended family members or guests. Homes with a guest casita can be very hard to find in La Jolla due to the smaller footprints of the lots that often times don't accommodate these extended living spaces. There are a few communities that we are aware of that do have guest casita homes and will be discussed below.

The La Jolla Country Club is a great place to start your search as these homes are typically located on large over-sized lots. The location is really hard to beat with an elevated topography that often features panoramic ocean views. There are some homes in this community that do offer a separate guest casita that can be used as a bedroom or office. We were able to find one located at 2005 Soledad Avenue that features a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 baths which includes in the 1 bedrooms/1 bath casita. The Spanish style home was built in 1940 and features wonderful ocean views, hardwood flooring, wood beamed ceilings and wonderful courtyard and outdoor terraces. it's currently available for lease at $8,900 a month.

Another place to consider is the popular Wind and Sea community in La Jolla. This is a beach close neighborhood with some large and beautiful homes located within steps to the sandy beach. We were able to find one listed for sale at 374 Bonair Street that features a total of four bedrooms and 3,096 square feet. it's currently on the market for $2,698,000. This is ideal for a client looking for a walk to the beach location. Another neighborhood to consider would be the La Jolla Alta community that also has select properties with a guest casita.
