We have a lot of home buyers looking for homes throughout the La Jolla area with many wishing to have some kind of an ocean view when looking for a property.  As a rule of thumb, the closer you are located near the beach the more expensive the real estate will be, especially if the property has some kind of an ocean view.  If you are open to not living right next to the beach then the Muirlands La Jolla community is considered one of the better places to look.  The one thing that makes the Muirlands community better than others is its location that is perched higher on a hillside.  Select homes in this community will offer wonderful ocean and coastline views that stretches south towards the Downtown San Diego area.

The most expensive homes sold in La Jolla, California have reached over $20 million dollars with a super hot real estate market in 2021 for most of San Diego county beach towns.  The highest sale occurred at 303 Vista De La Playa, La Jolla which was an amazing ocean front estate home that sold for $21,750,000.  It was originally listed for $22,500,000 and sold after being on the market for only 14 days.  This was a large house that featured a total of six bedrooms with an approximate 5,098 square feet of living space that was newly built in 2017 and came with a two detached garage according to our multiple listing service.  The views were simply stunning as seen below with unobstructed ocean and white water views.  The ocean front home featured four

We are very excited to see several new listings come on the market in La Jolla for the first time in many years.  Some have not been on the market for 25 years while others go back as far as 58 years ago.  As real estate agents we get used to some homes that tend to come and off the market every 5 to 10 years so seeing some brand new that has not been on the market for a long time is very exciting.  A really great priced 4 bedroom home built in the 1960's features wonderful mid-century modern design with hillside views.  It's located on a quiet cul-de-sac street and is on the market for $1,595,000.  Not surprisingly, it received an offer on it which the owners accepted and it's currently in-escrow.

La Jolla has it's fair share of mega mansions that can span over 10,000 square feet of living space.  The highest concentration of these homes can be found in the very upscale Muirlands neighborhood in La Jolla that is well known for having large homes on over-sized lots.
